Review Methodology
How we research software, what evidence we rely on, and the lines we won't cross.

What we evaluate
For each product we capture structural, checkable attributes: the company, official website, supported trades, software categories, platforms and mobile availability, integrations, and pricing model. We organize these into a consistent profile so you can compare like with like.
Evidence standards
Every claim is tagged by how we know it:
- Vendor-reported — stated by the vendor on their website or documentation. Most feature claims start here.
- Editorially verified — confirmed by us against primary sources.
- Not assessed — we haven't evaluated it yet.
We do not claim hands-on testing unless we actually performed it. Where a profile is based on public information, we say so.
How we handle pricing
Software pricing changes constantly and is often quote-based. We treat pricing as unverified until we confirm it against a dated vendor source. Until then, a profile shows the pricing model (subscription, quote-based, freemium) rather than a specific number we can't stand behind. We never publish an invented price.
How we rank and recommend
We don't assign fabricated numerical scores or star ratings. Our comparison tool and directory present factual attributes so you can judge fit for your business. Our interactive finder explains, in plain English, why each suggestion matches your inputs. Commercial compensation never determines these results.
What we will not do
- Invent ratings, review counts, user counts, awards, or testimonials.
- Publish unverified pricing as if it were confirmed.
- Let advertising or affiliate relationships secretly shape rankings.
- Present placeholder content as finished, researched material.
Corrections
If a vendor's offering has changed or we've made an error, tell us via our contact page and we'll update the record and its last-researched date.
