Estimate whether field service software pays for itself by turning technician time saved into a monthly and annual figure you can compare against the subscription cost.
A conservative estimate — your mileage will vary.
Estimated monthly net benefit
$1,533
Monthly savings minus software cost.
Monthly savings
$1,833
Annual net benefit
$18,400
Estimated monthly ROI
511%
Net benefit ÷ software cost.
How this calculator works
- Monthly labor savings = technicians × hours saved per week × hourly labor cost × (52 ÷ 12).
- Total monthly savings adds any other admin time savings.
- Net benefit subtracts the monthly software cost; ROI divides net benefit by software cost.
Worked example
Five techs saving 2 hours/week at $40/hour is about $1,733/month in labor savings. Add $100 admin savings and subtract $300 software cost for roughly $1,533/month net benefit.
Assumptions & limitations
- Time savings are your own conservative estimate, not a vendor promise.
- Uses 52 ÷ 12 weeks per month to annualize weekly savings.
- Payment-processing fees and onboarding costs are not included — add them to software cost if relevant.

How many hours will software actually save?
It varies widely by workflow and adoption. Start conservative — even one to two hours per technician per week can justify the cost. Measure after rollout to refine the estimate.
Should I include payment processing fees?
If you'll collect payments in-app, add expected processing fees to the monthly software cost so the net benefit is realistic.
